Transitional Housing

The KITH two-year transitional housing program helps a homeless family gain stability and self-sufficiency. Our Case Managers work closely with each family to assist in goal setting that will prepare the family to move into and maintain permanent housing. KITH owns four units of transitional housing and contracts with other providers for additional placement of families into housing.

Participants pay rent based on income level. To qualify for housing through KITH, a family must be homeless or in danger of homelessness. Our intake process helps determine extent of needs and our capacity to address those needs. Program participant’s interest in a commitment to work on goals and issues is also assessed. The length of time and individual or family resides in transitional housing varies between 6 and 24 months, depending on individual program.

Case Management is the key element in the Transitional Housing program offered by KITH. Participants must participate in weekly a case management session and follow through on their individual case plan to remain in housing. Each session with a Case Manager will focus on evaluating progress, working on areas of concern, and exploring ways to eliminate barriers to success. As families transition out of KITH housing, KITH works with them to secure new housing.

To apply for housing, individuals and families must contact the KITH office at 425-576-9531.
